APRIL SHOOT!

Attendance was down a little bit at the April Shoot.  It looked like it might rain, but it didn't, and we had a perfect day.  It was shady, comfortable and there was plenty of action.

Whiskey River Nelson, a relatively new cowboy shooter, and one of the younger cowboys, shot his 1st match without a miss.  In 5 stages of shooting, he hit all of his targets.  Ol' Horseshoe John only missed 1 shot.  It was a good shoot.

What else happened that was new?  Well, Outrider and Jaybird Daniel were posse leaders for the 1st time.  They did their jobs well, as expected.  And as usual, Horseshoe John did an excellent job of settin' up the range and gettin' ready for us to shoot.  Only 2 other cowboys came out to help him set up, and one of them, Tennessee Hoss knew that he couldn't shoot on Saturday, but  he helped anyway.  Thanks cowboys, and thanks Horseshoe John!

Have you ever heard the joke about how many cowboys does it take to eat a possum?  One cowboy to stand in the road and eat the possum and five to watch him and watch the vehicles that go by, or to come out the next day to see if the possum is gone.  Well, sometimes ol' Horseshoe is about like that lone feller eatin' the possum.  He's out there in the road by himself, or almost by himself, and he could sure use some help.  Please try to help set up at least one Friday this year before our shoot.  Give ol' Horseshoe a call and coordinate your day to help.  His phone number is listed in the contacts section of this newsletter.

DONATION:   Cool Waters donated a Gift Certificate for a box of bullets .  The Certificate will be awarded at the May Shoot.  Thanks, Cool Waters!
