Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys

     Do you remember this song?  Now before you answer that question, remember that this song was popular many years ago.  So if you remember it, then you're making a statement about how much sand has run through your hourglass.  Here are a couple of bold cowboys.  Do you recognize either of them?  Evidently two mothers didn't listen to that song, and their young'uns grew up to be….what else?  Cowboys!  The cowboy on the left appears to be out for a day trip.  He's on a spiffy hoss, decked out in chaps, vest, cowboy hat, and he ain't got any saddle bags.  The cowboy on the right ain't goin' to get anywhere fast on his trusty steed.  But he's goin' to be fixed up if he ever gets where he's goin'.  He's packing saddle bags, a rope, a prospecting pan, and (of course) his trusty shootin' iron.

   Who are these respectable young cowboys?  Well, the one on the left is a young Tennessee Hoss.  The cowboy on the right is a young Blayde Hollister.  Several years separate these cowboys in age, but in their hearts (which is what's important), they both share a common interest: cowboy culture, which includes Cowboy Action Shooting.

     Happy trails cowboys.  May the wind be always in your face, your dust behind you, and may your six-guns never miss.

NEXT MARAUDERS SHOOT - APRIL 27

     Don't forget to mark your calendars.  The next shoot will be held on April 27th.  The Buffalo Shoot starts at 8:00 am Eastern time.  Posse Marshals meet at 9:00 am for a walk through of scenarios.  The Safety Meeting starts at 9:30 am.  We shoot following the Safety Meeting.  Cross your fingers and hope for good weather.  PLEASE BE ON TIME AND BE PRESENT FOR THE SAFETY MEETING.  You can't shoot if you miss the safety meeting.

2002 Marauders Membership Dues-Pay Yours Pardner

If you haven't paid your 2002 Marauders membership dues yet, please do so. Individual Marauders Membership are as follows: 

                                   $35 Individual Membership

          *$50 Family Membership    # $10 Associate NRA Dues

*   Family membership covers principle shooter, spouse or significant other, and dependent children living at home or in school if a full time student.  Grandfathered early family memberships cover principle shooter, spouse or significant other and children and their spouse or significant other.  Grandfathered family memberships are all family memberships that were in effect before May 2000.

#   If you have a regular NRA membership or Life or other membership above the Associate membership, provide the NRA number and expiration date to Trooper George or Sundance and you do not owe the NRA dues.

     You can send your dues to Sundance ( JAMESIE S. NEYMAN, 4181 BLUE SPRINGS ROAD S.E., CLEVELAND, TN 37311)  Or you can pay them at the March shoot.  Remember, members pay a $10 shooting fee and non-members pay $15. 

Please get your dues in right away!

YOUNG SHOOTERS - THE FUTURE OF COWBOY ACTION SHOOTING

     Now to the uninitiated, these 2 young cowboys at the left look just like that: young cowboys, the end.  But they ain't.  They are the future of shooting sports, as we know them.  Most Cowboy Action Shooters are middle aged, or older.  So, when we get the opportunity to have young shooters join us, we have a responsibility to make their shooting experience with us safe and enjoyable.  If young shooters are in your posse, please help make 
their shooting experience with The Marauders a positive experience so they'll come back, or if they are not from our area, make them want to stay involved in playing our game:  Cowboy & Cowgirl Action Shooting.
