 Meeting Notes from our President

Work days at the Range - our "heavy" workday is the 5th Saturday of any month.  We sometimes use the 2nd Saturday for "range" work to clean up and set up for the following week's shoot.  Of course the Friday before our shoot day we do our final touches to the range.  Everyone’s willingness to help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome new BERMS ! ! ! 

The 2005 Membership drive initiated last May will soon be over.  As of June 2006 membership rates will return to their original fees of $35 for single memberships and $50 for family memberships.  May of 2006 is the last month to get in on the special membership price.

I'd like to take this moment to tell each of you just how much it means to me to be a part of the Tennessee Mountain Marauders.  I've been shooting since 1998 and it’s so wonderful for me to know that every month, I have the opportunity to see old friends and make new ones.  In the spirit of the game and the fellowship we share, I and several other cowpokes suggested we keep alive the spirit of fellowship during our meal times.  From now on, when the dinner bell is rung, we'll call a stop to any new loading, shoot out the last already loaded folks and head down to the tables together.  This idea was given a full "aye" and so from now on, we can all settle down and enjoy a wonderful meal together.

Don’t forget, the Mystery Dog Ranch Long-Range Buffalo Buckle shoot has begun!  It’s anybody’s game!  Come one and come all to compete for the First Annual Long Range Buckle Shoot.  The Buckle shoot is only good for the 200 yard target.  To be given away at the JULY Shoot!  Buckle will be available for inspection at the April shoot!

REMINDER;  The Marauders and Mystery Dog Ranch Fourth of July Celebration!  Ohio Kid is heading up the event with Cherokee Maddog assisting!  Spread the word, get some feedback and let us know so it will help us prepare for the event. 

The Buffalo Shoot was cancelled due to the fact the Berms were constructed and construction of steps needs to be in place before the long-range can commence.  We expect to resume at the April shoot so it’s still anybody’s GAME !  The buckle will be awarded at the July shoot since the March match was cancelled!

NEXT SHOOT – The Tennessee Mountain Marauders invite you to join them every THIRD SATURDAY at the Mystery Dog Ranch for fun, fellowship, and a daisy of a cowboy shoot!  The next shoot will be April 15th (Tax Day) with registration, buffalo shoot and coffee from 8:00 to 9:00 and the safety meeting following.  If you need directions to the shoot check out www.mysterydogranch.com  See ya there!

I saw a youngster shooting proud, don’t call him “just a kid”,

He practiced the Spirit of the Game like we all hoped we did,

 

I saw the posses, usually sane, both the young and old,

Dressed up and ready on the range despite the bitter cold,

 

I saw compadres old and new, from near and far-away,

United by just one thing, it’s called “The Cowboy Way!”
