NOVEMBER SHOOT

| Owlhoot Hardin and his Knoxville Posse save the day! | ||
|
Early Saturday morning it rained. Then it stopped, but it looked like it would start again any minute. The Marauders that normally arrive early were standing around the clubhouse trying to decide whether to shoot or to take down the targets before it started raining again. Horseshoe John, who with Tennessee Hoss, Double Barrel, and Hondo had set up the range the day before in the rain, had just asked Deadman whether he thought we should shoot or not. Then, in came Owlhoot Hardin, with a smile on his face and a posse from Knoxville. Owlhoot said, "Let's shoot. We're here." And so we did. In all, 43 shooters ventured out and registered to play the game. It didn't rain, and we had a terrific shoot. |

About midday, the smell of burgers and hot dawgs cookin' started spreadin' around, and this ole cowperson was ready to eat. Acres of turkey and dressin' didn't seem to slow down any of the cowfolk 'cause there were plenty of people in the chow line. |

How did the shoot go? |
||
|
It was great. It didn't rain. Tennessee Jake shot a clean stage. Owlhoot Hardin & Pleasant each missed only 1 shot all day, and each shot 4 clean stages. That wasn't bad with all them flyin' targets. Tri & Sundance each shot 3 clean stages. Blayde Hollister said that he wouldn't have missed any pistol targets, if all the caps on his percussion revolvers had fired (if a frog had wings …….) Deadman, according to Cherokee Blue Eyes, didn't know his right from his left (he shot all the targets on 1 stage in the wrong order), but he had 2 hot dawgs for lunch. Trooper George wore 2 different hats during the shoot. And Doc Harleyday announced that Cherokee Blue Eyes and Evil McNasty would be married during the break between the shooting and lunch at our Christmas Members Only Shoot & Family Christmas Social. |
