November 05 SASS Shoot

Minutes from the Secretary:

Hello Cowpokes and Pokettes!  November's shoot was certainly an event to be remembered.  And I guess you all know why.... (dramatic pause)...... Thanksgiving Dinner!  Yes, Ms. Dixie Ree (Marie) cooked up some of the most scrumptious vittles this side of the Mississippi .  Heck, this side of the Pacific!  This cowgirl chowed down on a turkey leg amongst other various dishes and by the looks of sheer delight on everyone's faces I know that it was enjoyed by all.

Once everyone was stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turkey (no pun intended) we settled down to the business of calculating votes for the leadership of 2006.  (And just a note:  ½ vote for Cherokee and ½ vote for Ohio didn't count--nice try!)  The winners were:

 President:  Cherokee Maddog

(came sliding in by just three extra votes)

 Chief Range Officer Doc Harleyday

 Territorial Governor:  Double Barrel

Give your officers for 2005 a big pat on the back, and your 2006 officers a big round of applause.  Now boys, get to work!

Again, we discussed the Christmas Party.  For the covered dish you bring, PLEASE let me know what you are bringing.  I am coordinating the dishes.  Email me at angieoakley@bellsouth.net OR call me at 332-0689 (home) or 443-9358 (cell) and leave me a voice mail with your name, phone number, and the dish(es) you want to bring.  I'll be keeping a list, and checking it twice, to make sure you don't bring double the rice.

To all who bring door prizes please place them separately from the gifts.  They will be numbered accordingly.  Thank you again for providing door prizes!  Brandy, Cruel Hand's wife, will be handling the decorating during the shoot.

 WE NEED DOOR PRIZES ! ! !

Directions to the Christmas Party:   from Mystery Dog Ranch  turn left out of the driveway, go 0.6 miles, turn left on Graysville Road, and it’s about 0.1 or 0.2 miles on the left.  From East Brainerd Road-turn onto Graysville Road .  Go a mile or two and you come to a stop sign.  Turn right and cross over the RR tracks and creek, go approximately 1 mile and it’s on your right.

New Business discussed:  A new category will begin January 06 called "Outlaw" category.  Cherokee will provide further details.  Effective immediately, you will only be able to sign up for yourself at the Bank (registration), fill out your score sheet, and sign up for the posse of your choice.

Starting again in 2006 also will be the resurrection of the long-range shoot.  Ohio Kid will be running this shoot before the regular match at 8:00 am .  I hear it on good authority that the winners of a six month scores tally will receive a silver buckle.  Think my little Rossi carbine has a chance?

Don't forget club fees are due December.

 Warmest holiday wishes,
