OCTOBER'S TEAM SHOOT A SUCCESS!

We had our 1st team match at the October shoot, and from the comments we heard, it was a success.  It was a bit of a novelty, for a change.  Sometimes the clang of the targets sounded like bells ringing, when a team got in rhythm and shot fast.  Of course it kept the spotters on their toes counting misses.  Each shooter had one spotter, so the spotter had to pay close attention to what was goin' on down range.  How did the shootin' go?
Well, it was active, fun, fast, and when

shooters first looked at the stage instructions, it looked confusing, because they showed what three shooters would do.  But ol' Horseshoe John made it pretty simple to shoot the stages by coloring the targets different colors for different shooters.  He painted the targets blue for the left shooter, white for the center shooter, and black for the right shooter.  That made it easy to shoot.

C. Rider came out as an observer.  He's had surgery a couple of times and hasn't been able to play the game for a while.  It was good to see him again.  The team that finished first was Curly Bill, Dustin Clays, and Jack Rabbit Bob.  All totaled, we had 22 teams (65 shooters). One team had to pick up another shooter (Other Feller) to have a 3-some.    Slim and his wife and team mate Josephine Marksman, shot with Horseshoe John and Coffee Joe rounding out their team.  This was the 2nd match

C. Rider, an ailing cowboy, came to participate as an observer.  We wish you a speedy recovery!

Slim has shot with us. He joined in September.   It was Josephine Marksman's 1st match with usLady Longhorn was sportin' a new outfit that she made herself. Then she set it off with a spiffy little hat.  Course you had to respect the lady, as she was also sportin' 2 big pistols...and she shot them quite well,

too.  This cowgirl wasn't the only fashion conscious shooter at the match.  The Ohio Kid furnished red sashes for his team:  the Ohio Kid, Double Barrel, and Renegade Texan.  The sashes made them look quite distinctive, just like the villains in the movie Tombstone.  Before the match, the Ohio Kid was overheard telling a few cowboys not to get any funny ideas, just because he and his team were wearing red sashes..

Terry's Toys To Sponsor New Shooter Each Month Of 2003

Starting in January, T-Bone will sponsor one new shooter each month of 2003. (A new shooter is a 1st time cowboy action shooter, not just a 1st time shooter with the Marauders)  In the event there is more than one new shooter, the sponsored shooter will be determined by the luck of the draw.

T-Bone Angus, owner of "Terry's Toys", a Wild West gun store has a large assortment of single action revolvers, lever action rifles, and some shotguns.  RUGERS, WINCHESTERS, AND UBERTI.  In addition to guns, he's waiting for the arrival of the next cattle drive for a large supply of leather for holsters and stuff.  So, if you're in need of more artillery, or just starting your cowboy arsenal, just ask for T-BONE ANGUS at the next Marauders shoot(All F.F.L. rules will apply.)   Terry's Toys is a SASS affiliated store, and the hours are 4pm till 11pm weekdays.
