72 SHOOTERS PARTICIPATE IN SEPTEMBER’S OUTLAW JOSEY WALES SHOOT

Owlhoot Hardin Shoots on His Birthday

Shadrack Jones With Spencer Rifle

After a rainy week, Saturday was a perfect shootin' day.  The weather was great, 72 shooters (a club record) came to play the game, Owlhoot Hardin celebrated his birthday, Cruel Hand Luke shot a clean match (his 4th) and was the Top Gun, and 5 lady shooters played the game.  Shooting stages based on the movie THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES, bullets flew,

targets clanged and everyone had fun.  If they didn't, they kept it to themselves.  Nobody came costumed as Josey Wales, nor for that matter any other character in the movie.  But we decided to award two Best Presence Certificates anyway. One goes to Shadrack Jones.  He came decked out in one of them linsey-woolsy shirts with embroidery, like them boys who rid with Josey wore in the movie and shootin' a Spencer rifle.  The other certificate goes to General Breckinridge.  He was dressed in the right / "confederate" uniform.  Both Shadrack and General Breckinridge win a free shoot.

Shadrack Jones and Gen. Breckinridge  win a free shoot just for lookin' good.  Not their pretty faces...for the fancy duds!

TEAM SHOOT IN OCTOBER

In October, we'll shoot six stages, and we'll shoot in teams of three.  Shooters will choose who they shoot with.  Just remember, only 3 shooters per team.  Scores will be kept by teams, and it doesn't matter what category you shoot in.

You'll register in teams.  You'll be given a card with the 3 names of your team on it. You'll take the card to a board and post it under the name of a posse leader.  If the teams get out of balance, we'll even the posses out as needed.

Posse Leaders have been selected, notified, and have met to discuss the stages. Posse leaders for the shoot will be:  (1) Tri & Too Tall  (2) Double Barrel & Sundance (3) Trail Bones, Deadman, and Tellico  (4) Pleasant & T-Bone.  Multiple posse leaders will serve to insure safety as the teams shoot.  Last minute teams can be formed on the morning of the shoot, but get your team together to save time.
